Dyslexia In Person Tutoring

Moreton Bay Multisense provides private in person Dyslexia tutoring mid-week during school term and school holidays.  Tutoring times are from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m.

Moreton Bay Multisense tutoring space is a dedicated home – based office within a residential house on Redcliffe Peninsula, north Brisbane.  Parents and support persons are welcome to stay while tutoring sessions occur.

$80 per 50 – minute in person session.

Two sessions per week are recommended to assist students in the retention of new skills.  Depending on circumstances, available time and budget, you may choose to attend one session per week noting that learning objectives may take longer to achieve.

It is encouraged and whenever possible, for parents or support persons to participate in tutoring sessions alongside the student, learning the reading and spelling strategies together, they become better equipped to assist with the student’s work at home more effectively.

Together, we set short and long-term goals, monitoring progress against these goals.

Students are given a diagnostic assessment at the commencement of our work together.  At intervals throughout our tuition the assessment is repeated to track student progress.

After each online lesson Moreton Bay Multisense will briefly discuss the progress of your child.

Our Approach

Moreton Bay Multisense provides instruction that builds student confidence and allows them to experience success every lesson.  Lessons are structured in such a way that they build on what the student knows, introducing new concepts in a way that is structured and supportive.

We use multisensory teaching methods to teach language skills to students.  This means that as many senses are engaged as possible during the lesson; hearing, sight, speech and bodily movement.  This method is based on research on how the brain learns to read and has been proven to be very effective in helping students with dyslexia to improve their reading and writing skills.
